Pick Of The Week: Jon Gurd- Su Sa EP
Likin this new EP by British Techno producer Jon Gurd. A bit on the dark side, but it features excellent rises and beat patterns with big reverbing kicks that will destroy on big speakers in the right club. I usually only choose one track a week, but this time I featured 2 of the tracks on the EP. I love that epic rise in SuSa, with the sound growing on you till the kick comes in, but very subtely. Smoke Deve features some cool instrumentation and almost has a dark funky feel to it. There is also a 3rd track on the EP, a remix of SuSa by Tony Rohr. Enjoy

Pick Of The Week: Rydel- Doing My thing
Rydel from Slovenia drops an energetic techno track here on PHNTM’s label Neptuun City. As is typical of the label, it features a nice groovy and funky bassline sped up and made into a more techno sound. At 130bpm will work well in the club. Enjoy your weekend

Pick of the Week: Marco Tisano- Antill
Toolroom Records is back with another volume of RHYTHM DISTRICT, featuring rhythm and drum oriented techno and tech house. All have been quite nice fun so far, and the latest is no exception.
One track that sticks out to me Antill by Marco Tisano out of Italy. This track features heavy tribal drum loops and interlaced vocals. Enjoy 🙂

Pick Of The Week: Cristian Varela- Cristo and Viven
Spaniard Cristian Varela is a familiar name to those in the techno and tribal scene and he’s back again with “Cristo and Viven.” Once again he throws in a groovy techno sound with tribal rhythms and tops flowing over it. Very nice track on an up and coming label for tribal tech house and techno, Insert Coin.

Pick Of The Week: Bagagee Viphex13- De Press
I love supporting local artists here in my adopted country, Korea. In a scene that all too often caters towards big clubs and huge crowds, I really appreciate the underground artists emerging. One of the best for this is the ECI Korea label, promoting a deep techno sound.
Their latest release, ECI Allstars 2013, is filled with groove oriented tech tracks, and I particularly like this deep techno number from Korean DJ Bagagee Viphex13. Great speed, great sounds, perfect groove.

Pick Of The Week: Drums of Death- Bang The Dub
Pick of the week comes from Drums Of Death out of London. “Bang The Dub” is a techno banger with a groovy bassline that will likely have you moving in your seat upon listening. This track has enjoyed support from the likes of Carl Cox. Enjoy!

Tony Dee- The Queen
Tony Dee continues to produce groovy tech gold. This Italian who won me over with tracks like Una Pregunta and The King is back with another mint piece called The Queen on the Suara Records compilation album Kitties Wanna Dance volume 8. Classic stuff with excellent but understated drums and a groovy bassline.
On another note, you may want to pick up this entire compilation, as Suara has turned into one of my favorite labels of late with some of the grooviest music around. In addition to this track, Indian techno master Arjun Vagale will have a track as well, and I’m stoked to see who else.
Marco Bailey and Tom Hades- Gung (Original Mix)
I like this new track Gung from Marco Bailey and Tom Hades on their Realm EP. Techno with a bassline that creates a groove you can swing to.

Mauro Picotto- I Love Disco (Mr. Bizz and Alex Costa Remixes)
Mr. Bizz Remix
Alex Costa Remix
Two sweet techno/tech house tracks here on Suara Records, a top label for deep, driving tech sounds. The first remix, by Mr. Bizz, has a stripped back techno feel to it with a driving sound that could continue for hours. The second remix by Alex Costa also has that tech feel, but with more melody and vocals that give it a little more groove and a housier vibe. Both are excellent.

Markantonio- Omniscient
Loving this track by Mark Antonio on Pornographic Recordings. Its a darker sounding techno track, but blast this through gigantic speakers in the right venues and people will be moving. It quite reminds me of the sounds I heard from Jon Rundell and Yousef at Ultra Music Festival in August. Might not work for all places, but find the correct one and people will dig it for sure.
