Picks Of The Week 9-19

Its a holiday week here in Korea, which means I’m busier than usual running around DJing so I didn’t have the time to really explore this week’s offerings as much as usual.   However, here are two sure fire winners from Just Be (Bushwacka) and Roger Sanchez with a Sonny Fodera remix.  The Just Be track will be a nice addition to any energetic house set, and I recommend putting on the headphones to appreciate that bass.  The Sanchez remix I recommend here will drop nicely into any deep house groove party.  Enjoy and happy Chuseok!

Picks Of The Week 9/4/2013

This week there are some excellent new tracks worth grabbing for the weekend.  Ed Witty throws out a techno banger with Trigger and and Notorious B. creates a nice techno/tech house tune that gets quite progressive as well over the course of its 10 minutes.  Rishi K. has a nice new EP of deep chill music, perfect for the lounges and starting off the night.  I particularly like the first track, Aquamarine.  Finally, the Suara mastercats team up with Technasia for yet another nice release.  The track “I Am Somebody” is a bit reminiscent of his big hit from last year, “Heart Of Flesh,” with a nice groove that carries through the song and some inspiring vocals.

Picks Of The Week 8/29/2013

These five tracks from the past week are definitely worth picking up for your weekend sets.  Steve Wu delivers a funky tech house tune with Gwangju, and Scott Diaz and Mauro Picotto both released excellent deep/techy crossover tracks.  Chiqito delivered a techno stomper on the always reliable Suara Records, and finally my first release, Get It On, came out this week.  Remember, support the artists, buy the music, and have a great weekend.

Pick Of The Week: Nino Bua- Once Again

 

Nino Bua from USA has a penchant for making funky and cool tech house numbers featuring catchy vocal samples with nice rhythms and drum patterns.  He’s back at it here with “Once Again.”  In this track I especially love the vocal sample he used in conjunction with a nice beat.  Pick it up for your weekend mix, especially at the pool and other groove oriented dance venues 🙂

Pick Of The Week: Aleeg- Feng Shoe

Soulman Music out of Uruguay has been one of my favorite labels for tech and house that hits the sweet spot of a little deep, a little funky, and a little techy.   This latest cut is from Aleeg out of Mexico.  Perfect down-tempo funky groover.  This will definitely go down at some pool parties during these hot summer months!
